We will be hosting Gary Harbo on January 11, 2014! More details later...
Gary Harbo is an author and illustrator of 23 exciting books for children, including: My New Friend, Bad Bart's Revenge, Bart Becomes a Friend (out of print), The Great Train Ride, The Black Hills Adventure, The Northern Woods Adventure, Where Is My Sister, Santa's Secret Gift, and
Gary has also wrote the book “How to Draw 104 Cartoons with Gary Harbo” and is bringing 2 workshops to our region:
Initial Art Lesson:
Two Dimensional Cartoon Illustrations
This first art lesson provides students with skills required to create their own cartoon characters.
Advanced Art Lesson:
Three Dimensional Book Illustrations
This lesson will build on that foundation by exploring techniques for creating three-dimensional bodies for characters, as well as motion, color and background.
Students often feel they cannot draw. These step-by-step art lessons will show even the most skeptical of talents that drawing can be easy and fun. By breaking the illustration down into simple steps, the children will be able to successfully follow along and create a wonderful drawing. Gary provides a lot of choices mixed in with a good sense of humor. The students connect with this style of creativity and everyone has fun developing their very own character with unique personalities.
In these presentations, each child will participate in a 55 minute art lesson and will be delighted with their final drawing. Everyone will learn how to draw a cartoon character. Just like every artist, each drawing will be unique and will have an interesting personality.
