A cool new app for library users!

Library users across the region are now able to access books using the BookMyne application. BookMyne offers all the capabilities of your local library account, but on-the-go. Created by SirsiDynix, the application provides mobile access to in-demand library information, library materials, and services. BookMyne allows library customers to search the catalog, place holds, view their accounts, view digital bookshelves, and download electronic resources through their iOS or Android devices no matter where they are. Technology Support Librarian Tyler Irvin says adding BookMyne expands SELCO’s ongoing mission of supporting and connecting libraries across the region. “Providing patrons mobile access to their library accounts means that regional library users will be able to stay connected to their libraries and access services at their convenience,” Irvin said. “We at SELCO are pleased that we can offer this technology to provide better services to library patrons across the region.”
The BookMyne app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Android Market for free.

Did you see the library entry in the DJJD Parade?

While Booker, the book bus broke down the volunteers didn't!
Here are the new TAB Co-Presidents Nate Urke and Jasper Egge carrying the banner.
Many staff members, Library Pages and  Friends of the Library walked in the
 parade waving at crowds.

Meet Will he's a READER OF THE WEEK!

Camden did it!

Camden read 1,000 books before kindergarten!
Planting seeds for Kindergarten is the Northfield program that encourages all families and caregivers to read 1,000 books with their young children before they enter kindergarten.
Studies have shown that families who start reading aloud to their children at birth help to strengthen their language skills and build their vocabulary – two important tools for beginning to learn to read.
You will be rewarded for every 100 books you read.

Siblings and friends can also be rewarded for reading to younger kids, come by any location and pick up a "Super Reader" record sheet.
Information & reading records are available at the Northfield Public Library, ECFE and Longfellow school
This program is made possible by the Northfield Rotary, Northfield Healthy Community Initiative, Early Childhood Initiative Coalition, Northfield Public Schools, Northfield Promise, Friends & Foundation of the Library and Northfield Public Library.
