Story times resume the week of January 4th



Patty Cake Infant Lapsit  10 am Tuesdays
Infant Lapsit is specially designed to encourage development of language and motor skills by incorporating books with simple songs, rhymes and fingerplays.
For ages 6-18 months with parent or caregiver.

Toddler Rhyme Time  10 am Wednesdays
Is a time to encourage development of language and motor skills by integrating movement, songs, books and rhymes for kids ages 18 months to 3 years with parent or caregiver.

Story Time for 4’s and 5’s   10 am Thursdays
Stories and a craft for the “just about ready for school crowd.” For those who are ready to sit and listen to a picture book, sing songs and create a small art project.

Carleton ACT Book Buddies    11 am Saturdays
Saturday morning stories and crafts for all ages! 

First Steps Early Literacy Center Monday, Friday and Saturdays
10 am to noon
A parent or caregiver-directed activity center where toddlers and preschoolers are surrounded by alphabet manipulatives, concept books, board books and puzzles, all designed to be a fun learning experience.

All these progams are in the library’s meeting room.  There is no charge for library programs.  For handicapped assistance please call 465-1804.

2010 Library Calendars are now available!

The Friends of the Library created a commemorative calendar for the Northfield Library's upcoming centennial in 2010!  Our original Carnegie Library will be 100 years old this spring.  The calendars are available at the library for $5.00 each.  Limited edition!

author Nancy Carlson!

Henry’s Amazing Imagination, a finalist for the 2008 Minnesota Book Awards for Children’s Literature. Plus, author and illustrator of many other books!

“Recognition of her published work includes several Reading Rainbow selections, the Children’s Choice Award from the International Reading Association and Children’s Book Council, the Minnesota Children’s Museum Great Friends to Kids Award and several others.”

The Ms. Carlson will give a presentation, draw some of her chacters, and answer questions.

We have been lucky enough for many years to receive a donation from the Cocoa Bean via the Hawaiian shaved ice they sell at Books & Stars! It will help keep Booker rolling!! Thanks, Eileen and Marvin!
