What's going on at the library.: LEGO FUN COMING UP!!!

New site for early learning resources and ideas!

The great part is there are videos that show experienced storytime staff sharing a simple early literacy activity and modeling sharing a parent tip that goes with it. It's aimed at library staff who are new to doing storytimes, and yet, so useful for childcare providers and parents.

Story Blocks

The Colorado State Library announced the launch of STORY BLOCKS an online video collection featuring one-minute songs and rhymes for babies, toddlers and preschool children in both English and Spanish. Filmed in partnership with Rocky Mountain PBS, librarians throughout Colorado share successful activities as well as literacy tips. Parents, child care providers and others will discover ways to engage very young children in fun and playful interactions that also build healthy brain development.

Summer Children’s Programs

Infant Lapsit 10 am Tuesdays
Infant Lapsit is specially designed to encourage development of language and motor skills by incorporating books with simple songs, rhymes and finger plays. For ages 6-18 months with parent or caregiver.

We DIG Kindergarten!

1 pm-2 pm Tuesdays June 11-July 23

a special program for kids who will be entering Kindergarten this fall!

Toddler Rhyme Times 9:30 and 10:30 on Wednesdays

Is a time to encourage development of language and motor skills by integrating movement, songs, books and rhymes for kids ages 18 month—age 3 with parent or caregiver.

DIG into Reading Wednesdays from 1-3!

A drop-in time with stories and activities for kids going into grades 1 to 4.

Pre-School Story Time 10 am Thursdays
Stories and a craft for the “just about ready for school crowd.” We read picture books, sing songs and create a small art project. For ages 4-5.

Summer Reading Reward Pizza time! 11:30 Thursdays

Be sure to bring your reading folder and as a reward for reading you get some pizza from the Northfield Dominos!!

We DIG LEGOS! noon to 2:15

Use the library's LEGOS to create weekly challenges!

All of these programs are held in the library’s meeting room.
